Our Training Facility - BLGCHQ

Beach Training

We train regularly throughout the summer months with all our members having access to multiple sessions a week in which we teach a variety of skills. This is all based at our beach based Club HQ @ Joseph Steps, Bournemouth. We also run winter training for our very keen adult members who each Sunday brave the cold water to keep fit.

Our Sessions

Rookie's Training

Beach Training

Tuesdays (Excluding Winter)

On Tuesdays evenings during the summer months the club runs beach based training sessions at the club HQ at Joseph Steps.

Rookies | 17:00 - 18:30

Cadets and Adults | 18:30 - 20:00

The sessions consist of various lifesaving core skill along side fitness and first aid knowledge. With this comes the ability to gain your National Vocational Beach Lifeguard Qualification.

Cadet's Training

Friday Bonanza

Fridays (Summer Holidays Only)

For the 6 weeks in the summer holidays we run an extra sessions on Fridays nights in place of the usual Pool Training.

This is not an instructor led sessions but rather a time for club members to get in the water with various equipment and have some fun.

A BBQ is then lit for your own food to be put on and we enjoy the fireworks at Bournemouth Pier.

Adults's Training

Boxing Day

26th December

Every year we host our Boxing Day Rescue Demonstration in which the Mayor of Bournemouth also comes and presents awards; we all have a bit of fun and (if brave enough) a swimwear dip.

The demonstration is open for all to watch and so don't be shy about coming down even if you aren't part of the club.
